Who accepts MoonPay?

Not every bank and card provider is crypto-friendly. Should your transaction be declined, please call them directly for more information.

What is MoonPay?

MoonPay is an application that allows you to buy cryptocurrency instantly using your bank card or bank account.

Hashflow has partnered with MoonPay to allow users to buy cryptocurrency directly from the Hashflow trading app. The benefits of using MoonPay with Hashflow are:

  • Instant access to digital assets 160 countries

  • Trade immediately on a decentralized exchange without slippage or MEV

  • No KYC fees or identity verification fees

Based on the region you are located in, your options to buy crypto may include debit card, credit card, local bank transfers, or Apple Pay.

What is Know Your Customer (KYC) when using MoonPay?

Hashflow has partnered with MoonPay to allow users to buy cryptocurrency directly from the Hashflow trading app. With this partnership, users who use Moonpay on Hashflow are required to go through the KYC process.

Know Your Customer (KYC) is a process financial institutions use to identify and verify a user when they open an account.

It is designated to prevent and mitigate possible risks of MoonPay being involved in any kind of illegal activity. Both international and local regulations require MoonPay to implement measures to prevent any form of suspicious activity from its Users.

The process and documents required for KYC may vary based on the user’s country of residence. Hashflow does NOT have access to any of Moonpay’s KYC data.

Potential documentation to submit:

MoonPay can only accept the original or PDF version of these documents, depending on what a user is being asked to submit. Screenshots are not accepted.

Users may be prompted to submit this information when attempting to buy crypto on the Hashflow web app for the first time. Once verified, a user should not have to complete this process again.

What payment methods are accepted when using MoonPay?

MoonPay has certain payment methods accepted depending on your region.

US residents can purchase crypto using the following payment methods:

  • Bank Card (including MasterCard, Visa and Maestro)

  • Apple Pay

Non-US residents can purchase crypto using the following payment methods:

  • Bank Card (including MasterCard, Visa, and Maestro)

  • Apple Pay

  • SEPA and SEPA Instant (EUR denominated transactions in SEPA countries only)

  • UK Faster Payments (GBP denominated transactions in the UK only)

  • PIX (BRL denominated transactions in Brazil only)

  • YellowCard bank transfer (NGN denominated transactions in Nigeria only)

How to use MoonPay on Hashflow?

To get started, connect your wallet on the Hashflow trading app, and click [Buy Crypto] within the dropdown menu:

Follow the rest of the flow within the widget to log into your MoonPay account, select the assets you want to buy or sell, and complete the transaction with your payment method.

Your purchase will be available in your wallet to swap once the transaction is completed.

Orders typically take between a few minutes and a few days. The amount of time your order takes depends on the payment method, the number of orders, and any additional security checks completed by MoonPay.

If your transaction failed, it may have been declined by your bank because it was a crypto purchase. Please try another payment method or contact your bank directly for help.

Which digital assets are available to buy using MoonPay?

Common blue-chip assets on the most popular chains are available for purchase using MoonPay on Hashflow. For longer-tail assets, they will be supported depending on 1) whether the asset is currently supported by Hashflow’s market makers, and 2) supported by MoonPay.

Once you purchase one of these assets using MoonPay, and the assets have been deposited to your wallet, you can start trading them on Hashflow.

Why did my MoonPay transaction fail?

A MoonPay transaction may fail if MoonPay could not accept your payment, verify your account, or verify your payment method.

In many cases, your bank may have blocked your transaction because it was a crypto purchase. If your transaction has failed, and you see a message stating “Your transaction has been declined by your bank,” please contact your bank for assistance.

My MoonPay transaction did not complete.

Your crypto purchase will be available in your wallet once the transaction is completed.

The amount of time your order takes depends on the payment method, the number of orders, and any additional security checks completed by MoonPay. Card transfers may take up to a few hours and bank transfers may take up to a few days.

You can track the status of your transaction from the tracking link provided in your confirmation email. If you did not receive a confirmation email, please make sure you have completed the transaction.
